i totally adore this movie.
This is not a love story. It is a story about love.

i was so mesmerized that i couldn't get my eyes off the screen.
the storyline was captivating, bringing us through the 500 days, unveiling the pages like a diary.

hmm.
something like the song 洋葱.
heart-warming, yet heart-wrenching at the very next moment.
oh'life.

i love the way the scenes run, with a tinge of arty farty feel.
from the nostalgic childhood videos to the musical-like dance.
i love the narrative parts, pulling me closer to the story.
i love how the character(s) relate(s).
manz, i love the director.

i love Tom.
the cute one.
creative and talented.
down-to-earth, and trying every effort to please his new found love.
(the part where he brought Summer to his fav hide-out & drawing his ideas on her arms got me melting)

i love Summer.
she's uber cool.
nonsensical and the 'who-cares' kinda girl.
just as narrated, she's got that unique appeal.
yesh, she's a little irresponsible in terms of her relationship with Tom, but i guess he's just not the one.
in fact, i admire her decisiveness.
well she found her true love eventually.
and i really love her dressing.
vest and high-collars, blue ribbons and ponytails.
you don't have to flaunt your boobs to be pretty.
be a high-class lady.

anyways i don't think this is a comedy at all.
cause i felt my heart twitching most of the time.
it's a story about love.
the meticulous descriptions of falling in & out of love was so precise, i almost did a standing ovation.
i felt it when Tom was elated and on cloud nine.
i felt Tom's anguish and longingness when he dropped bottom-low.
it was especially real when they showed it explicitly how Expectations vary from Reality.
isn't this what we experience in life?
not just once, a whole lot of times.

Fate is all but a piece of crap.
i think i know what that means now.
well i like the way Summer describes it..
Coincidence.

shall continue to chew on this on my way home..
